SUMMARY:2019 Aberdeen Founders Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:This parade celebrates Aberdeen’s past\, present\, and future.  There will be lots of antique vehicles and old-time entries.  Aberdeen has a Tesla Supercharger\, and we’d like to thank them and support their efforts by bringing our Teslas to their Parade. Please meet at the Aberdeen Supercharger at 10:30 am. \nThere is no carnival at this event\, but on one of the downtown streets there will be a number of craft/food booths\, and a small car show. After the parade\, we will be demonstrating our cars and doing ride-alongs from the Tesla Supercharger. \nEvent is free. We have space for 20 cars\, please RSVP by June 25th via the Eventbrite button below. \nRSVP Now via EventbriteParade FAQ’s:  \nIs this event kid friendly?  \nYes\, bring your family.  But\, NO THROWING CANDY at this event. Aberdeen prohibits because they consider it dangerous if a child runs in front of a car to get the candy. \nShould I decorate my car? \nParade participants tend to display American flags.  Wear your Tesla or TOCPNW gear\, so we represent as a group after the parade.

SUMMARY:TOCPNW Homemade Pizza Party
DESCRIPTION:What: TOCPNW Homemade Pizza Party\nWhen: Saturday\, June 22nd 12 pm \nWhere: Private home in Ferndale WA \nAddress will be sent to individuals that RSVP on Eventbrite only. \nCome one\, come all to our wonderful homemade pizza event. When I say homemade\, I mean pretty much everything is homemade! \nOur organizer Paul I did a great job for us last year.  Previously\, he prepared from scratch:  homemade pizza dough\, 2 or 3 choices for pizza sauce\, 2 homemade salad dressings\, and even smoked his own bacon! Pizzas were made individually to each person’s specifications: choice of sauce\, cheese\, (3 or 4 kinds of local cheese last year\, and Lori will bring dairy-free cheese option this year)\, meats\, and an assortment of veggie. Individual pizzas then baked in an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven. \nPlease bring a drink to share. Kid friendly\, but please leave your pets at home.

SUMMARY:Tulip Rallye - Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:What: Tulip Rallye (scavenger hunt) organized by MG Car Club Northwest Centre\nWhen:  Saturday April 27th Check-in begins at 8:00 am (drivers meeting 9:30 am)\nWhere: Cascade Mall Parking Lot \nThis year TOCPNW will participate the MG Car Club Northwest Centre’s Tulip Rallye. (Not to be confused with TOCPNW’s Tesla in the Tulips Event\, which is NOT happening this year!). \nThis rallye has been going on since 1982\, and it is super fun! It is a driving event\, which uses puns\, puzzles and trivia to guide you on the beautiful route through Skagit County. All the answers to the questions are based on things you will see along the way. Best participation uses a driver and a copilot. The copilot reads clues and records answers\, though if you drive alone\, you can still participate just by driving and not competing in the game portion. You must register by downloading registration form at Tulip Rallye website.  (Please note this is a charity event for the local food bank. Please bring food or money to donate) Pre-registration to order T-shirts\, or pay by mail cut-off is April 4th. Online registration through PayPal cut-off is April 20th.  (PayPal info: register@tuliprallye.org and please click the “send money to friends” button). \nPlease review the main website and also read these links: \nArrival and Parking \nThe Starting Procedure \nIn order to get all the Tesla folk to meet up\, please also RSVP here. You will later receive an email which will give you the cell phone number of Carl\, our on-site TOCPNW coordinator to be used for texts during the day. (Please do not text him during the driving portion\, this is just so you guys can find each other in the crowded parking lot before the event starts). \n Remember we are participating in another car club event\, please register through them and respect their rules!

SUMMARY:Wild Horse Energy Farm Tour & Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing
DESCRIPTION:When: August 11th\, 2018\, from 3:15 pm until after dark/meteor shower\, option to stay over and have group brunch on Sunday. \nWhat:  Wild Horse Wind and Solar Farm Tour and Meteor Shower Viewing \nTickets: This is a free event. Pack your own food for a picnic dinner. There is no place to buy food or water up at the viewing site. \n\n\n \n \n \n UPDATE: The event is open for all EV’s. If you want to join us\, we will be getting a behind the scenes private tour of the solar farm (not just the public tours that PSE gives). \nThe event is free. PSE has advertised that anyone can come to view the meteors on the evening of both the 11th and 12th.  However\, if you join us on the 11th\, you will get access to the public tour of the windmill and a private tour of the solar array. \nPlease email lori@tocpnw.org and provide the following details: number of adults\, children\, type of car\, and if you are part of TOCPNW or some other EV group. We will have space to accommodate 100 people on our private tour. \nAlso\, folks have asked about camping on site. There is no tent camping allowed. If you want to stay overnight\, please make your own reservations at a campsite or hotel nearby. (Though some folks suggested sleeping in their cars\, PSE has said no. Also\, bathroom access is only until midnight). If you plan to stay after closing\, you need to get a permit. I will send out maps and permits after folks RSVP. \nGeneral Description: \nMark your calendars for the weekend of August 11th-12th. This is a not to be missed/once in a lifetime event!! \nThis year the Perseid Meteor Shower peaks on the weekend of the 11th & 12th of Aug.\, the first time the peak has occurred on a weekend in years\, and it may not happen again for another 50 years! We will be above the fog\, and away from the city lights\, so we should have a great view. \nMeet at the PSE’s Wild Horse Wind and Solar farm at 3:30 pm (NOTE: THIS IS A CHANGE\, FROM PREVIOUSLY POSTED MEETING TIME AND LOCATION). We will be met by staff and given a “behind the scenes tour of the facility including the opportunity for a group picture in front of the solar array. After the tour and presentation pick out a nice spot and wait for the show. \nPlease bring warm coats\, hats and a blanket or two as you are several thousand feet up and it will be cold after sundown! \nFor those that want more–make your own overnight reservations\, and on Sunday we can get together for brunch before heading home. \nThis is very much a “kid-friendly” facility so bring all the young ones. \nThe staff is very excited to have a group of Teslas coming for a visit\, so let’s pull out the stops and bring them a crowd.

This is a private event–open to members and their guests.  Winthrop is a western theme town with plenty of interesting attractions. \nTickets\, which include the Poker Run & BBQ dinner Saturday evening\, are available now on Eventbrite.  Please contact Jack (509) 293-1195 if you have questions. \nEvent \nFriday afternoon we will gather at the Methow Valley Cider House for registration\, icebreaker\, and great cider and food. \nSaturday we will conduct the Poker Run.  This fun event involves driving to designated points along the route and drawing a playing card.  Driver with the highest five cards is the winner.  TOCPNW has designed several contests for which the winners will get to draw an “extra” card.  The Poker Run will terminate in Twisp and the day will conclude with a western BBQ and campfire.  If you are not interested in driving the Poker Run\, check this site for other things to do:  http://www.winthropwashington.com/things-do/family-friendly-fun/. \nSunday\, after the awarding of prizes\, we will break into smaller groups.  We have some suggested activities ranging from a guided walking tour of the Shafer Museum (http://www.shafermuseum.com/) to visiting the historic western theme town of Winthrop.  Our focus is on FUN. \nAccommodations \nCampsites can be arranged with Anna Kominak of the Pine Near RV Park;  they have cabins\, Tipis\, tent sites and connections with hotels in Winthrop.  Anna has blocked out facilities for us; however\, each participant must make reservations individually.  Contact her at (509) 341-4062 or pinenearpark@gmail.com.  You can view the facilities at www.pinenearpark.com. \nYou can also join the weekend events but stay at a local hotel if camping isn’t your preferred option.  Anna has offered to assist with making these arrangements as well. \nFood \nThis is a “bring your own beverage event” – we will have water\, but nothing else.  Tickets include Saturday BBQ.  Other meals are open.  Some of us will go to town for breakfast Saturday AM before the Poker Run – others will probably form their own group breakfasts at the campsite. \nCharging Plan  \nUp to nine big battery cars can be charged at the Pine Near RV Park’s 80A J1772 EVSE during a 15-hour period from 5PM Friday to 8AM Saturday.   There are also plenty of 240 VAC 50A NEMA 14-50 charging opportunities available in the park. \nA big THANK YOU to Plug-in North Central Washington for sponsoring the 80A\, and to the Pine Near RV Park for offering free charging.  As a courtesy\, if you charge at the RV park\, please consider bringing cash\, as we will collect donations for the RV park (suggested donation $5).
