SUMMARY:Teslas on the Track Saturday
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate NDEW by showing the gas car drivers how great it is to drive electric on the track! TOCPNW will be joining Hooked on Driving for a day at the Ridge Motorsports Park. \nThis is an excellent opportunity to try your hand at performance driving\, in a safe instructive environment. All new drivers have instructors in cars\, and sessions are separated based on driver experience level. \nThis is ‘cooperative’ high speed driving—meaning no crazy cutting in front or around you. Each driver goes at their pace. Driver in front offers the other driver to pass by signaling. This means each driver gets to challenge themselves to their own level. \n\nWe get early registration to have as many Teslas as we want (after that\, they will open registration to other HOD members— internal combustion engine cars). We need a few more to have our own run group (Teslas only).\nFor those that want to enjoy the track day but are afraid or ruining their tires\, there is a separate registration for a parade lap (follow-the-leader\, max speed 45 mph).\nWe also welcome other TOC members to come\, watch the fun and answer questions about Tesla. We will also be offering ride-a-longs to the ‘gear head’ ICE drivers (on local roads\, not race track). No\, fee or registration for this option\, just RSVP to lori@tocpnw.org.\n\nThis event is open to all TOC members. Please be an active member of TOCPNW or one of our sister TOC groups in Portland\, British Columbia or NorCal. Join or renew TOCPNW online here. \nPlease RSVP to lori@tocpnw.org for link to online registration for our special HOD event.

We have space for 20 cars\, please RSVP by June 25th via the Eventbrite button below. \nRSVP Now via EventbriteParade FAQ’s:  \nIs this event kid friendly?  \nYes\, bring your family.  But\, NO THROWING CANDY at this event. Aberdeen prohibits because they consider it dangerous if a child runs in front of a car to get the candy. \nShould I decorate my car? \nParade participants tend to display American flags.  Wear your Tesla or TOCPNW gear\, so we represent as a group after the parade.

SUMMARY:Teslas on the Beach - 2019 Flag Day Parade - Ocean Shores\, WA
DESCRIPTION:Teslas of all types are invited to participate in this All-American parade Presented by Ocean Shores – North Bend Elks Lodge. \nThis event is free and open to the public (TOCPNW has paid the parade fee for our group of Teslas).  Please Register by June 4th using the form below so we can give the parade organizers an idea of how many cars we’ll have.We have space for up to 20 cars. (Please be sure to read the parade FAQ’s at the end of this post). \nPlease meet at 9:30 am at the parking lot of the Canterbury Inn and Suites (643 Ocean Shores Blvd).  We will then go as a group to the parade staging area.  The parade starts at 11am\, and typically concludes around 12:30.  After the parade\, the parade participants disperse\, but for those who want to continue the fun\, please join us for a group lunch\, as we did last year (~1:00-2:30pm).  After lunch let’s all head to the beach for some pics!! \nMake a weekend out of it: \nThe Canterbury Inn and Suites is offering a special overnight rate for the TOCNW participants. Canterbury Inn\, 643 Ocean Shores Blvd\, Ocean Shores\, WA. There is a 10% discount when you call (360) 289-3317 and mention the Tesla Group. \nThe weather in Ocean Shores is unpredictable. It is right on the Pacific Ocean\, and is typically 20 degrees cooler than Seattle in the Summer. Please bring a hooded coat as the temperatures will be cooler towards the evening. \nParade FAQ’s: \nIs this kid and pet friendly? \nKids are more than welcome!  Throwing candy from the car is a tradition in this parade.  Kids line up and are expecting treats.  IF we wish to throw candy\, then we have to have at least 2 walkers. Their job is to watch for children and adults that may get in the way of the vehicle. \nShould I bring Candy to throw? \nYes\, but please make it hard candy\, not chocolate that can melt and make a mess. \nWhat about pets? \nPets are welcome to ride in your car and enjoy the fun. If you do bring a pet\, please sure your pet is comfortable with crowds and loud noises.  If the animal is walked in the parade\, a person must follow the animals to remove any excrement left along the parade route.  This is just good manners\, afterall! \n Should I decorate my car? \nSince this is a Flag Day Parade\, it is appropriate to have your Tesla decorated. Steamers\, flags\, red\, white and blue.  Show how proud we are to drive a US made car. \n{Click here to register!}\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration form for: Flag Day Parade - Ocean Shores\, WA\n \n Your Name*\n \n \n Your Email*\n \n \n Number of Teslas you are bringing to the event*\n \n \n Tesla model(s) you are bringing to the event* \nRoadsterModel SModel XModel 3\n \n Total in your party*\n \n \n Will you be joining us for lunch?*\nYesNo\n \n Comments or other info/questions you'd like to share with us\n \n \n\n ×

SUMMARY:Tulip Rallye - Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:What: Tulip Rallye (scavenger hunt) organized by MG Car Club Northwest Centre\nWhen:  Saturday April 27th Check-in begins at 8:00 am (drivers meeting 9:30 am)\nWhere: Cascade Mall Parking Lot \nThis year TOCPNW will participate the MG Car Club Northwest Centre’s Tulip Rallye. (Not to be confused with TOCPNW’s Tesla in the Tulips Event\, which is NOT happening this year!). \nThis rallye has been going on since 1982\, and it is super fun! It is a driving event\, which uses puns\, puzzles and trivia to guide you on the beautiful route through Skagit County. All the answers to the questions are based on things you will see along the way. Best participation uses a driver and a copilot. The copilot reads clues and records answers\, though if you drive alone\, you can still participate just by driving and not competing in the game portion. You must register by downloading registration form at Tulip Rallye website.  (Please note this is a charity event for the local food bank. Please bring food or money to donate) Pre-registration to order T-shirts\, or pay by mail cut-off is April 4th. Online registration through PayPal cut-off is April 20th.  (PayPal info: register@tuliprallye.org and please click the “send money to friends” button). \nPlease review the main website and also read these links: \nArrival and Parking \nThe Starting Procedure \nIn order to get all the Tesla folk to meet up\, please also RSVP here. You will later receive an email which will give you the cell phone number of Carl\, our on-site TOCPNW coordinator to be used for texts during the day. (Please do not text him during the driving portion\, this is just so you guys can find each other in the crowded parking lot before the event starts). \n Remember we are participating in another car club event\, please register through them and respect their rules!

SUMMARY:Tesla Campout Weekend
DESCRIPTION:CANCELED \nTesla Owners Club Pacific Northwest invites you to join a unique EVent in the heart of the Methow Valley–our Tesla Campout Weekend. This is a private event–open to members and their guests.  Winthrop is a western theme town with plenty of interesting attractions. \nTickets\, which include the Poker Run & BBQ dinner Saturday evening\, are available now on Eventbrite.  Please contact Jack (509) 293-1195 if you have questions. \nEvent \nFriday afternoon we will gather at the Methow Valley Cider House for registration\, icebreaker\, and great cider and food. \nSaturday we will conduct the Poker Run.  This fun event involves driving to designated points along the route and drawing a playing card.  Driver with the highest five cards is the winner.  TOCPNW has designed several contests for which the winners will get to draw an “extra” card.  The Poker Run will terminate in Twisp and the day will conclude with a western BBQ and campfire.  If you are not interested in driving the Poker Run\, check this site for other things to do:  http://www.winthropwashington.com/things-do/family-friendly-fun/. \nSunday\, after the awarding of prizes\, we will break into smaller groups.  We have some suggested activities ranging from a guided walking tour of the Shafer Museum (http://www.shafermuseum.com/) to visiting the historic western theme town of Winthrop.  Our focus is on FUN. \nAccommodations \nCampsites can be arranged with Anna Kominak of the Pine Near RV Park;  they have cabins\, Tipis\, tent sites and connections with hotels in Winthrop.  Anna has blocked out facilities for us; however\, each participant must make reservations individually.  Contact her at (509) 341-4062 or pinenearpark@gmail.com.  You can view the facilities at www.pinenearpark.com. \nYou can also join the weekend events but stay at a local hotel if camping isn’t your preferred option.  Anna has offered to assist with making these arrangements as well. \nFood \nThis is a “bring your own beverage event” – we will have water\, but nothing else.  Tickets include Saturday BBQ.  Other meals are open.  Some of us will go to town for breakfast Saturday AM before the Poker Run – others will probably form their own group breakfasts at the campsite. \nCharging Plan  \nUp to nine big battery cars can be charged at the Pine Near RV Park’s 80A J1772 EVSE during a 15-hour period from 5PM Friday to 8AM Saturday.   There are also plenty of 240 VAC 50A NEMA 14-50 charging opportunities available in the park. \nA big THANK YOU to Plug-in North Central Washington for sponsoring the 80A\, and to the Pine Near RV Park for offering free charging.  As a courtesy\, if you charge at the RV park\, please consider bringing cash\, as we will collect donations for the RV park (suggested donation $5).
