Then back to Willows Lodge for a buffet luncheon served in three courses\, speckled with presentations from club members. \nWe are working on a block of Teatro ZinZanni show tickets next door in the old Red Hook Brewery building. Please email Theresa Ramsdell at theresa@tocpnw.org to RSVP to Teatro ZinZanni for Friday night Oct 11\, 2019. Once we have a minimum of 12 attendees to get the group rate\, I will post an Eventbrite event to purchase your tickets. \nTo make a mini weekend vacation out of Annual Meeting\, TOCPNW has been offered a 10% discount on a Friday night stay at Willows Lodge. Please call Willows Lodge (877-424-3930) directly to book your room and mention Tesla Owners Club Pacific Northwest to get the discount. SUMMARY:Teslas on the Track Saturday
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate NDEW by showing the gas car drivers how great it is to drive electric on the track! TOCPNW will be joining Hooked on Driving for a day at the Ridge Motorsports Park. \nThis is an excellent opportunity to try your hand at performance driving\, in a safe instructive environment. All new drivers have instructors in cars\, and sessions are separated based on driver experience level. \nThis is ‘cooperative’ high speed driving—meaning no crazy cutting in front or around you. Each driver goes at their pace. Driver in front offers the other driver to pass by signaling. This means each driver gets to challenge themselves to their own level. \n\nWe get early registration to have as many Teslas as we want (after that\, they will open registration to other HOD members— internal combustion engine cars). We need a few more to have our own run group (Teslas only).\nFor those that want to enjoy the track day but are afraid or ruining their tires\, there is a separate registration for a parade lap (follow-the-leader\, max speed 45 mph).\nWe also welcome other TOC members to come\, watch the fun and answer questions about Tesla. We will also be offering ride-a-longs to the ‘gear head’ ICE drivers (on local roads\, not race track). No\, fee or registration for this option\, just RSVP to lori@tocpnw.org.\n\nThis event is open to all TOC members. Please be an active member of TOCPNW or one of our sister TOC groups in Portland\, British Columbia or NorCal. After the parade\, we will be demonstrating our cars and doing ride-alongs from the Tesla Supercharger. \nEvent is free. Pizzas were made individually to each person’s specifications: choice of sauce\, cheese\, (3 or 4 kinds of local cheese last year\, and Lori will bring dairy-free cheese option this year)\, meats\, and an assortment of veggie. Individual pizzas then baked in an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven. \nPlease bring a drink to share. Kid friendly\, but please leave your pets at home.

DESCRIPTION:Teslas of all types are invited to participate in this All-American parade Presented by Ocean Shores – North Bend Elks Lodge. \nThis event is free and open to the public (TOCPNW has paid the parade fee for our group of Teslas).  Please Register by June 4th using the form below so we can give the parade organizers an idea of how many cars we’ll have.We have space for up to 20 cars. (Please be sure to read the parade FAQ’s at the end of this post). \nPlease meet at 9:30 am at the parking lot of the Canterbury Inn and Suites (643 Ocean Shores Blvd).  We will then go as a group to the parade staging area.  The parade starts at 11am\, and typically concludes around 12:30.  After the parade\, the parade participants disperse\, but for those who want to continue the fun\, please join us for a group lunch\, as we did last year (~1:00-2:30pm).  After lunch let’s all head to the beach for some pics!! \nMake a weekend out of it:  \nThe Canterbury Inn and Suites is offering a special overnight rate for the TOCNW participants. Canterbury Inn\, 643 Ocean Shores Blvd\, Ocean Shores\, WA. There is a 10% discount when you call (360) 289-3317 and mention the Tesla Group. \nThe weather in Ocean Shores is unpredictable. It is right on the Pacific Ocean\, and is typically 20 degrees cooler than Seattle in the Summer. Please bring a hooded coat as the temperatures will be cooler towards the evening. \nParade FAQ’s: \nIs this kid and pet friendly? \nKids are more than welcome!  Throwing candy from the car is a tradition in this parade.  Kids line up and are expecting treats.  IF we wish to throw candy\, then we have to have at least 2 walkers. Their job is to watch for children and adults that may get in the way of the vehicle. \nShould I bring Candy to throw? \nYes\, but please make it hard candy\, not chocolate that can melt and make a mess. \nWhat about pets? \nPets are welcome to ride in your car and enjoy the fun. If you do bring a pet\, please sure your pet is comfortable with crowds and loud noises.  If the animal is walked in the parade\, a person must follow the animals to remove any excrement left along the parade route.  This is just good manners\, afterall! \n Should I decorate my car? \nSince this is a Flag Day Parade\, it is appropriate to have your Tesla decorated. DESCRIPTION:What: Tulip Rallye (scavenger hunt) organized by MG Car Club Northwest Centre\nWhen:  Saturday April 27th Check-in begins at 8:00 am (drivers meeting 9:30 am)\nWhere: Cascade Mall Parking Lot \nThis year TOCPNW will participate the MG Car Club Northwest Centre’s Tulip Rallye. (Not to be confused with TOCPNW’s Tesla in the Tulips Event\, which is NOT happening this year!). \nThis rallye has been going on since 1982\, and it is super fun! It is a driving event\, which uses puns\, puzzles and trivia to guide you on the beautiful route through Skagit County. All the answers to the questions are based on things you will see along the way. Best participation uses a driver and a copilot. The copilot reads clues and records answers\, though if you drive alone\, you can still participate just by driving and not competing in the game portion. You must register by downloading registration form at Tulip Rallye website.  (Please note this is a charity event for the local food bank. Please bring food or money to donate) Pre-registration to order T-shirts\, or pay by mail cut-off is April 4th. DESCRIPTION:TOCPNW will go visit the Spark Museum in Bellingham WA.  The Spark Museum is a museum of history and technology related to electricity\, and we all know TOCPNW loves electricity! We will get to see the “MegaZapper” up close\, the 9’ tall Tesla coil. And\, as an added bonus\, they have just added an exhibit on Edison and Tesla. \nUPDATE: \nThe museum has graciously agreed to give us a group tour\, even though they usually don’t do tours on the weekends\, they will give us a tour before they open for the public. Tour is family friendly\, bring your kids\, too. \nPlan:  Meet at the door at 9:45 AM. Each person will purchase their own ticket ($14.00). We have reserved parking for 10 cars and a group photo (so get there early with a clean car).
