SUMMARY:Tulip Rallye - Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:What: Tulip Rallye (scavenger hunt) organized by MG Car Club Northwest Centre\nWhen:  Saturday April 27th Check-in begins at 8:00 am (drivers meeting 9:30 am)\nWhere: Cascade Mall Parking Lot \nThis year TOCPNW will participate the MG Car Club Northwest Centre’s Tulip Rallye. (Not to be confused with TOCPNW’s Tesla in the Tulips Event\, which is NOT happening this year!). \nThis rallye has been going on since 1982\, and it is super fun! It is a driving event\, which uses puns\, puzzles and trivia to guide you on the beautiful route through Skagit County. All the answers to the questions are based on things you will see along the way. Best participation uses a driver and a copilot. The copilot reads clues and records answers\, though if you drive alone\, you can still participate just by driving and not competing in the game portion. You must register by downloading registration form at Tulip Rallye website.  (Please note this is a charity event for the local food bank. Please bring food or money to donate) Pre-registration to order T-shirts\, or pay by mail cut-off is April 4th. Online registration through PayPal cut-off is April 20th.  (PayPal info: register@tuliprallye.org and please click the “send money to friends” button). \nPlease review the main website and also read these links: \nArrival and Parking \nThe Starting Procedure \nIn order to get all the Tesla folk to meet up\, please also RSVP here. You will later receive an email which will give you the cell phone number of Carl\, our on-site TOCPNW coordinator to be used for texts during the day. (Please do not text him during the driving portion\, this is just so you guys can find each other in the crowded parking lot before the event starts). \n Remember we are participating in another car club event\, please register through them and respect their rules!

SUMMARY:Spark Museum of Electrical Invention
DESCRIPTION:TOCPNW will go visit the Spark Museum in Bellingham WA.  The Spark Museum is a museum of history and technology related to electricity\, and we all know TOCPNW loves electricity! We will get to see the “MegaZapper” up close\, the 9’ tall Tesla coil. And\, as an added bonus\, they have just added an exhibit on Edison and Tesla. \nUPDATE: \nThe museum has graciously agreed to give us a group tour\, even though they usually don’t do tours on the weekends\, they will give us a tour before they open for the public. Tour is family friendly\, bring your kids\, too. \nPlan:  Meet at the door at 9:45 AM. Each person will purchase their own ticket ($14.00). We have reserved parking for 10 cars and a group photo (so get there early with a clean car). Other cars\, will park in general parking. \nAfter the museum\, we will go together for a group meal at a local pub\, and celebrate the birthday of one of our beloved TOCPNW Event Coordinators. \nWe hope you can join us.  Please RSVP\, so we know how many to expect. The cut-off date to give museum notice is April 5th. \nRSVP Now

SUMMARY:Wild Horse Energy Farm Tour & Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing
DESCRIPTION:When: August 11th\, 2018\, from 3:15 pm until after dark/meteor shower\, option to stay over and have group brunch on Sunday. \nWhat:  Wild Horse Wind and Solar Farm Tour and Meteor Shower Viewing \nTickets: This is a free event. If you want to join us\, we will be getting a behind the scenes private tour of the solar farm (not just the public tours that PSE gives). \nThe event is free. PSE has advertised that anyone can come to view the meteors on the evening of both the 11th and 12th.  However\, if you join us on the 11th\, you will get access to the public tour of the windmill and a private tour of the solar array. \nPlease email lori@tocpnw.org and provide the following details: number of adults\, children\, type of car\, and if you are part of TOCPNW or some other EV group. We will have space to accommodate 100 people on our private tour. \nAlso\, folks have asked about camping on site. There is no tent camping allowed. If you want to stay overnight\, please make your own reservations at a campsite or hotel nearby. (Though some folks suggested sleeping in their cars\, PSE has said no. Also\, bathroom access is only until midnight). If you plan to stay after closing\, you need to get a permit. I will send out maps and permits after folks RSVP. \nGeneral Description: \nMark your calendars for the weekend of August 11th-12th. This is a not to be missed/once in a lifetime event!! \nThis year the Perseid Meteor Shower peaks on the weekend of the 11th & 12th of Aug.\, the first time the peak has occurred on a weekend in years\, and it may not happen again for another 50 years! We will be above the fog\, and away from the city lights\, so we should have a great view. \nMeet at the PSE’s Wild Horse Wind and Solar farm at 3:30 pm (NOTE: THIS IS A CHANGE\, FROM PREVIOUSLY POSTED MEETING TIME AND LOCATION). We will be met by staff and given a “behind the scenes tour of the facility including the opportunity for a group picture in front of the solar array. After the tour and presentation pick out a nice spot and wait for the show. \nPlease bring warm coats\, hats and a blanket or two as you are several thousand feet up and it will be cold after sundown! \nFor those that want more–make your own overnight reservations\, and on Sunday we can get together for brunch before heading home. \nThis is very much a “kid-friendly” facility so bring all the young ones. \nThe staff is very excited to have a group of Teslas coming for a visit\, so let’s pull out the stops and bring them a crowd.
